Terms of Service
These Terms of Service concern use of maikinlife.com. Purchases are governed by the separate Terms of Sale, which take precedence for payment, delivery, withdrawal, returns, refunds, guarantees and consumer mediation.

1. Purpose of the website
Maikin is an online store selling stationery, lifestyle accessories and related goods. Product descriptions, prices and delivery information are provided to help you decide whether to order.
2. Using the website
Do not use the website for unlawful or fraudulent purposes, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access or introduce malicious code.
We may proportionately restrict access to protect the website against unlawful use, fraud or security threats. Restrictions do not remove your access to applicable order remedies, withdrawal rights or statutory guarantees. You may contact us by email, telephone or post using the details above.
3. Product information
We make reasonable efforts to present accurate descriptions, prices, availability and delivery information. The essential characteristics are shown on each product page before purchase.
Photographs and descriptions identify the products offered. Screen settings and lighting can cause minor colour differences. This does not affect our obligation to deliver goods conforming to the description or your statutory conformity rights.
Errors affecting orders are handled under the Terms of Sale and applicable law. These Terms of Service do not create an additional unrestricted cancellation right.
4. Orders
Please read the Terms of Sale before ordering. They explain how contracts are concluded, what you pay, delivery commitments and your remedies. Changes to website-use terms do not retrospectively alter a purchase contract.
5. Intellectual property
Website text, images, photographs, graphics, logos, designs, layout and other protected content belong to their respective rights holders. Use beyond that permitted by law requires the relevant rights holder's authorisation. Exceptions permitted by law remain available.
6. Shopify and other services
The website is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes information about visits and purchases, including through enhanced services incorporating interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify. Information is shared with Shopify and the service providers involved and may be processed in other countries. Our Privacy Policy explains these activities, consent choices, transfers and Shopify's separate privacy information.
We also use providers for functions such as payments and delivery. Links to independent third-party services may be governed by those services' own terms. This does not exclude Maikin's responsibility for providers used to perform your order or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
7. Availability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the website accessible and functional. Maintenance, updates, technical issues or security measures may temporarily interrupt access. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.
An interruption does not remove your contractual or statutory remedies. You can contact us directly if it prevents you from accessing information or exercising an order-related right.
8. Personal data
The Privacy Policy governs information about our personal-data processing. Using the website or accepting sales terms is not consent to marketing or non-essential cookies. You can manage cookies through the site's cookie preferences and contact support@maikinlife.com about your data rights.
9. Liability
Liability is determined under applicable law. No provision excludes or restricts liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. For purchases, the seller's responsibilities and consumer remedies set out in the Terms of Sale apply, including responsibility for providers used to perform the order.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms of Service for future use of the website. Existing purchase contracts remain governed by the Terms of Sale accepted when those orders were placed. We provide notice of changes where required by law.
11. Applicable law and disputes
French law governs these terms. Where Maikin directs its activities to your country of habitual residence, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-law provisions that would otherwise apply.
Disputes may be brought before the courts competent under the applicable rules. These terms do not impose exclusive jurisdiction on the courts of Antibes or France. You may contact us to seek an amicable solution without prejudice to your legal remedies.
For consumer mediation relating to a purchase, see the CM2C details in the Terms of Sale and Legal Notice.
